Portraiture painting is a very personal experience that requires personal interaction between the artist and the client. The client's job is to describe their vision, and the artist's job is to bring that vision to life. As an artist, my goal is to recreate/interpret a moment in time of some person/event that has a special meaning to my clients.

I enjoy creating a sensitive lifelike portrait painted in a realistic style from photographs. I work to capture not only the likeness but also the personality of my subject.

When I work from photographs, the inconvenience of sittings and the expense of travel are eliminated. Work is commissioned from your existing photographs if the photographic quality is sufficient for me to work from. Many at times regular snapshots, even black & white older ones make more interesting portraits than posed photographs.

I guarantee to tailor my client's portrait  to  match the concept in their mind as best as possible!

                            Commissioned Portraits with a Personal Touch

Prior to the start of your project...
  • We will review your photos and discuss the materials and procedures I will be using. There are copyright restrictions on photographs from commercial studios, please provide a written consent from the studio should you wish to use such a photograph. 
  • If we are transforming a black & white photograph into a color portrait, good color descriptions that include photos of other family members with similar skin tones, hair and eye color will be helpful.
  • We will discuss pricing options; that is the estimated cost and time to finish the portrait, payment options, fees associated with shipping and handling, and fees associates with framing.
  •  A 50% non-refundable deposit is required once you place your order. When the portrait is completed, a digital photograph of the finished painting will be sent to you electronically. Your satisfaction is important. Small adjustments that do not affect the integrity of the portrait can and will be made to your liking at that time. Final Payment will be due upon your approval of the photo.
